seeing the #rustfest stuff on twitter and I really hope to go one day. if only I could afford it or had a job that would pay for me to go 😢
@balrogboogie I don't think it's too unlikely that someday there'll be a finaid program for Rust conferences like other programming language conferences have!
@aldeka @balrogboogie There have been some ticket and travel sponsorships for Rust conferences already, so that's certainly true! For example, this most recent RustFest had 15 tickets available plus up to EUR3000 in travel funding per person, primarily targeted toward people from groups that have been underrepresented: https://diversitytickets.org/events/152
@balrogboogie hey, you totally could get one one day. I would never imagine that somebody would relocate me to work on Free software. Still sounds like a dream. Yet I don't think I'm special, just lucky.
